The Heart's Paradox

douglas

I have come to know that it's a tragedy,
To have a romantic heart and a mature mind.
The heart doesn't know the logic,
Whereas the mind is always guided by reason.

The heart yearns for dreams, for magic,
For whispers under moonlit skies.
The mind seeks truth, demands the facts,
And questions every reason why.

The heart leaps at a lover's glance,
Enchanted by a fleeting chance.
The mind stands firm, analyzes,
Weighs the risks, and criticizes.

Caught between this endless fight,
My soul remains both day and night.
For love's sweet call, I still abide,
While wisdom keeps me safe inside.

So here I stand, both torn and free,
A paradox eternally.
A heart that loves, a mind that's wise,
In this tragedy, my spirit lies.
